Could be stock GF 7300GT.....card without active cooling, very hot, and probably dead now.

Or this card, 8800GT....high failure rate:

Just took it out, its the stock GF 7300GT. Should I even try to bake this?

Ill have to replace it anyway, if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks everyone!

Bro-dood,

Buy a new card. I scanned all those bar codes your screen put up. It's a plea for a quick death from your gpu. Just bury it in the back yard next to the pet goldfish. That card should have come with a little Do Not Resuscitate sticker on the side.

8800 graphics card? You might want to look up "bake nvidia 8800" if it is.

Best put the oven on I think :)

Just baked it, totally worked! Writing this from my mac pro! Thanks, you guys rock! :D

Don't give up so easily, derp.

Brodelplex,

It's not a matter of me giving up, but the card's desire to end it all. Such sweet sorrow....010001110101010100010101011

any suggestions?

Even if you are happy with 7300GT performance, this card is just TOO old.
ATI Radeon X1900XT is too old and noisy.
8800GT is out of the question.
2600XT from Mac Pro 3.1 is also too old.
You can get HD5770 and be happy for long time.
Radeon HD4870 is older and much hotter, but in some cases faster than HD5770.

Negligible, if noticed at all (speed! power/heat disadvantage probably quite noticeable!). Also the 4870's are infamous for dying voltage regulators (mine took the monitor with it when it blew).

@OP: If the boot menu is not needed and you can live w/o the Apple DVD player in OS X, a PC 6850/6870 may be another (cheaper) alternative. For Steam games it'd require the installation of Aty_Init from netkas, though.
