I hope this is OK for this forum,

I have a MBP 13, which is awesome, but i want to rip around 200 DVDs which have been put onto DVD.

this is gonna take a while to feed through Handbrake.

I was thinking that i could get a second hand, most basic Mac Mini, that i could simply run all the time with the DVDs. it could then be a home server.

What do people think the most basic config should be??? is Power Pc ok?? and what about RAM? priority is cost, as i can simply let the machine run all the time with DVDs going through...

I would try to find an Intel based Mini. Support for PPC is dropping all the time and Intels are much faster as well. One thing that I would definitely get is an external DVD drive because the internal drive is VERY slow. Any 5.25" drive is much faster
