What to check for buying craigslist iPhone 3GS

So I already have a 32gB 3GS and I just came across a really good deal a 3gs 32GB iPhone for sale black used but mint condition for 360.00. I already have someone that will buy it for 450 casht that's the only reason why I would buy it.

What should I check out before I purchase it to make sure everythings running okay. Should I plug it into my macbook to see if it syncs. Or should a full restore just do fine? I just don't want to buy it then something is internally wrong with it.

If there is one close to you, meet at the apple store. This way youll know if there is something up because they if there is, they wouldnt want to meet you at the apple store. Then maybe have a "genius" look at it to see if the warranty hasnt been voided and all of that good stuff. Thats what I would personally do.

Appreciate it, but I looked for the post again and it already sold quick. Thanks though and that was a good idea but the closet apple store is 18 miles away. Not too far but I don't know if it would be with the trip

I've been enjoying my 16gb 3GS for many months now and had simply been dragging my feet on selling the 16gb 3G it replaced. So a couple of weeks ago I posted the 3G on C/L and good grief, did "they" ever come out of the woodwork. The phone had two pretty good dings on opposing corners from an ugly drop long ago, but it worked fine and I was open about the damage, pics & all. Anyway, I asked $350 for it and the scammer ploys rolled right in.

I muddled through the emails and in the end I sold it to the first person willing to come and get it for $300. Worked for him as it was a good deal, worked out for me as I was done dealing with the usual C/L trolls.

It's a jungle out there.
