Hi Guys,

So I have the Airpods Pro and lately it is not passing the Ear Fit Test and so I gave it to the Apple Service Centre for them to check, the Apple Service Centre gave me back in one day when I asked them what was the reason for such an express delivery they said well we had nothing to do just cleaned the AirPods Pro (Which according to me were already cleaned so I don’t know what they cleaned) but anyways they cleaned it and just changed the Silicon Ear Tips, where I got it back they started passing the Ear fit test but now again in one months time they have again started failing. With a lot of effort with a lot of twisting and turning of the AirPods while in my ear, the Left one passes the test but the right one still does not Pass. And even if the one which passes the Ear Fit test even when I do not touch it, and after a while I again run the War For test out would again shoot me gap. Even if I have not touched or re-positioned or aligned not even touched the AirPods Pro so the fit test which passed does not remain passed for a long time if you play just one track and if you were to run the test again it would show you fail. Not my question is do I have to take this to Apple Service Centre even over month ? lol ! Why does the Ear fit test not remain passed after I play one track ? in just one track after playing just one track the ear Fit test again keeps failing !

What is your suggestion ? I know my Airplay Pro would work even with me bothering for the Ear Fit Test passing but my point is if Apple has given a functionality why not use it ? Right Guys ? We do not buy Apple products to compromise on situations do we ?

People are still worrying about this gimmick? Mine hardly ever pass the test but still sound great and ANC is fine. My suggestion would be to pretend this stupid test isn’t there and enjoy your AirPods.

But to believe that I have a Good Seal and a Clean Seal for that Perfect ANC experience. I want something to tell me that Yes now you will have a good ANC which without the Ear Fit Test there is nothing to tell or suggest that isnt it ?

I have the same issue. I tried all the supplied buds. I tried about three different third party buds with different materials. My ear canals do not seem to go into the right direction. It always fails on at least one ear. If I turn the left pod upside down with the mike sticking up like a Martian antenna it works. But I do not have the confidence to walk around like that.
My solution: I just ignore it. They sound fine and do a better job than my AirPods, which are still great for that open air listening. For the in depth experience I don my Maxs or wired Denon cans.

But my problem with ignoring this issue is, then how am I gonna feel confident, if there is no any indication which prompts that now I will have a perfect ANC and listening experience ? Don't you think a prompt like it would be great ?

This is what I also tell those who worry about the 'battery health' of their iPhone. It's meaningless. I have never did the test (don't even know how--guessed that it was supposed to do it when I first paired them but nothing happened) but the ANC is so good I had to use transparency since everywhere I use my Pro's is either outdoors hiking (and I want to hear traffic or the birds/animal sounds) or at work where I have to hear the boss.

Yeah, ignore the test. It’s meaningless and means nothing for how they actually sound. The gist of the test is that if you have a good seal, you get better sound. Most people can figure out whether to use small, medium or large on their own.

But does the Fit Test also not become important to let you know that though you feel you have a good seal but who knows if there is a sound leakage happening because there is some open area exposing some area of open ear canal, when you have the Airpods Pro on your ears ?

I tried all the included tips and the other two the AirPods wouldn't stay in my ears. The ones they came installed with were the perfect fit for myself--didn't need Apple telling me what I can find out for myself. The first time I placed them in my ears the ANC came on by default and all the traffic near Kroger (all sound, really) vanished right after the pairing chime. It was really odd so I turned Transparency on and just use that.

Reminded me of the David Clark aviation headset I tried out at Oshkosh AirVenture years ago--same result, would suck if you didn't hear an engine fail or an important warning chime/GPWS alert though!
