My white MacBook starts discoloring...Or is already discolored...

I can't really tell if my MacBook is actually discolored. If I look at it from an angle, it looks like it's white. BUT if I look at it head-on though, it kind of looks like it's discolored!

Am I able to take this to an Apple store and exchange it even if I purchased it online? Today is my 14th day of having this MacBook, but Apple shipped it on the 15th of June. Does Apple go by the ship date of the product for returns? Or by the date that you received it?

Someone please help! I don't want a discolored white MacBook!

if you really think you are having problems with discoloration call applecare or visit your local store with the machine....

So which claim is true...?

O'Grady's claim or Macworld UK's claim?

I just don't want to call Applecare unless I really have to. Has anyone had any experience with going to the Apple Store with their MacBooks and exchanging it out for another because of discoloration?

not sure... but if your MacBook is discolored, i would call apple and complain and maybe they will replace the case for you...

cant hurt to try :)

True dat. I'm just trying to figure out what the Apple store will do for me if I wanted to exchange it for another one...Because I love my MacBook and will be very sad to depart from it for a few days if I have to ship it off if they don't let me exchange it. :(

i have always had a hard time getting exchanges from the store when i purchased online, and like wise I cannot get exchanges from the online/phone w/o first consulting my local store. probably just an isolated incident though.

Hmm, really? I'll be sure to keep that in mind then. I guess it might be better for me to call Apple then!

I'm just having a hard time seeing if my MacBook has just a "grease-spot" or if it's actually discolored. If I look at a different angle, it appears as if it's discolored. If I look at it head on, it kind of looks like it's discolored. If I look at it directly from above, it looks white. So maybe it's just a grease spot? Generally, I always clean my hands before using my MacBook AND Aluminum PowerBook G4. I've also had an iBook G3 and I've never had any discoloration issues...

I'm just a really picky person I guess. I like my stuff in pristine condition though! :D
