it took me over an hour on phone talking to 4 different people and finally explaining to a apple manager that i have a defected screen and finally he send me a Advance replacement , now the 2nd imac i receiver last night says NO AIRPORT INSTALLED ...

i need to replace this as well ... how should i do this ? should i just call the manager who did advance replacement for me ? i emailed him twice and left 3 messages too .. he didn't reply .... should i just call the 1-800 number and explain and go thur the whole thing again.. (i really don't want to waste another hour with them)

please tell me , what you all did in a similar situation... also my 14 days starts from the time i received the replacement or from the day i received the initial mac which i am holding to until i receive a good working one. ?

I'd return it for a refund and wait until the next refresh comes out. Should be late Summer. This first generation of iMacs are horrendous. Too many problems with the screens and other things. I'd expect this problem to have been solved by then. Hopefully!! Til then, you're most likley going to still receive a defective screen. Reports indicate that weeks 9,10 and 11 all contain yellow tinged screens. Even the refurbished models contain yellow blotches.

I would give them another chance, you obviously want the iMac and you brought it for a reason.

Ya give it another chance, you obviously bought the iMac for a reason, give it one more go and if its still defective thats 3 strikes Apple is out, get a refund and buy something else.

If the Airport doesn't appear to be installed or working I would just reformat the hard drive and start fresh first before I assume the computer is "DefecTIVE: It might be just a missing driver for the Airport.

Good thinking, try a clean install of the OS and see if this could be the problem.
