I love my Ipod Video for the storage capacity. I keep it in my vehicle and run it into my Pioneer deck with ipod controls. My specific radio has the ability to do bluetooth audio which I do occasionally but mostly just keep my ipod stocked full of my music and run it.

I noticed it has been disconnecting from my radio frequently and the battery was dead. So I brought it inside to fully charge on a house charger. The radio had kept it fully charged previously. It didnt want to take a full charge from the home charger and seemed to keep restarting occasionally (apple logo popping up occasionally even after restarting the ipod a few times). I am assuming the battery has just had it.

Ifixit did not have batteries for this. But I found a couple places online that said they stock the batter. I read the write up on ifixit and it looks like something I can do.

But is it worth chancing that that isnt the only issue? I started thinking that even if the battery is not keeping a charge, it should still turn on and stay on as long as it is plugged into a wall charger.

Hoping someone has some advice. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a battery issue. I understand that there might be something else wrong with it, but a replacement battery with tools is $10 online and the repair is very simple once you get the iPod open. Personally, I would try and replace the battery and see if that fixes it because it is a $10 gamble.

I may just give it a shot then.... The only place that had the battery in stock was almost $30.

Not sure if they allow retailer names but can someone share the name of a place that may have the battery and that carries decent quality batteries? I read some comments online about getting some from ebay that were junk. Maybe just isolated.
