What to do with Messages

Should I uninstall messages before I download Mountain Lion? Messages never seem to work right for me like deleting messages or clearing unread messages.
 
You would. But it really doesn't matter, since Messages will be updated with Mountain Lion.

The Messages Apple released for Lion was version 6.1, but the version in Mountain Lion GM is 7.0 so it will most likely update.
