What to do with my 3gs 3.1.2?

my 3gs is jailbroken with blacksn1w, and it's getting annoying that i have to use a PC to reboot the phone.

i can't restore my phone now since it needs to restart the phone.....

is it possible for me to jailbreak my phone again with a different program?

or what else i can do to restore my phone?

Did you save your SHSH in Cydia ? If so, you can restore your phone to 3.1.2

If not, you are stuck for now.

You have a tethered jailbreak, it doesn't matter which tool you use to JB it, it will still be a tethered jailbreak.
 
There's a guy on this board (I think his username is "pcs are junk") who's working on an untethered jailbreak, but he hasn't said anything about it lately. I think he was having trouble finding where Apple stores the 24kpwn file in the iBoot part of the filesystem, and I don't know if he ever resolved that issue. Keep your eyes peeled for his announcement, though!

I know, it was terrible...I just couldn't help myself :eek:

His return to time-out isn't particularly surprising, although it is striking how much less misinformation gets spread on this board what he's gone. Imagine if he had been around to "help" people who upgraded to 3.1.3...

OP, to clarify, there is no prospect of an untethered jailbreak anytime soon. Apologies if I misled you.

no i didn't save it, i just got the phone few days ago.

is it too late to save it?

Maybe he'll use this time to work on OS 11. One of his first posts here was about how he was about to write a new OS, which he hoped to sell to Apple. Since then I think he's been too busy "helping" people on these forums.
