Hi, Back in 2012 my wife and I bought a 64GB AT&T iPad 2 in hopes it would work in the role of a light duty laptop. Needless to say it did not even back then and since we are not really content consumers for the most part, it became a bit of a paperweight and a cat toy with the cat games on it. I am not even sure what iPad OS it is on but it does not run very well, my wife had been using it to watch programs while it sat atop her rowing machine in the office.

I can't imagine it is worth even $50 at this point so I would like to wipe it clean and maybe put a version of iPad OS on it that won't see it come to a crawl.

It does look like the new iPad Pro is finally something I can use though for remote light duty photo work when even a 13" laptop is too much of a bother so I have an 11" 1TB cellular one on order.

But the ancient iPad 2, what the heck should I do with this thing???

Turn it into a digital photo frame.

I still have my iPad 1 and iPad 2. (after that, I've traded in or gave away the iPads/Pros that I no longer used)

My iPad 1 serves as a digital picture tube for a vintage TV.

My iPad 2 serves as a dedicated table-top arcade machine....

...and a pinball machine.

Tried to fire up my iPad 1 last week for nostalgia purposes, but it wouldn’t start. :-( Left it plugged in for a while too but no joy.

I installed FlipClock on my old iPad and just use it as a clock on my desk although I really like the arcade and pinball ideas posted above.

We have a receiver with usb. I loaded our music collection on the iPad mini 1 and use it as a jute box. Pretty slow even scrolling through play lists but somehow relaxing after hours. Especially when phones are off.
