M2 Pro expectations? [MERGED]

At this point I really dare not to make any predictions. Can be anything really. From a straightforward upscaled M2 to a completely new chip with new generation of high performance cores. If it's "just" a horizontally scaled M2 however, the prediction is easy — 8+2 core CPU at 3.5Ghz and a 20 core GPU, most likely with the same 200GB/s LPDDR5 memory interface.
M2 Pro SoC
- 12-core CPU (8P/4E)
- 20-core GPU
- 16-core Neural Engine
- Media Engine
- 48GB LPDDR5 SDRAM
- 200GB/s UMA bandwidth
Curious what y’all expect (preferably in a reasonable way ) from the next pro chip

Since the 14” battery is quite “bad”,maybe we’ll get a 4E+4P cores ,with as many effficiency cores as the air ? Idk but that sounds likely to me

I'm not sure what you mean the 14" battery is bad. I can regularly get through an entire workday without plugging in. I don't consider it bad at all given my case use.

Idk I’ve seen so many comments and review saying that it isn’t good at all tbh . Not that it’s BAD,but that is is far away from the 16 and even air
Hazard a guess you meant to write M2 Pro, instead of M1 in the title?
My predictions are same design with M2 spec bumps and maybe some port upgrades? Sounds like it may be a press release update for iPad and MacBook this year, so I doubt it's going to be anything mindblowing compared to the M1 models unless you're coming from Intel.
Can't imagine the improvements will justify many folks upgrading from M1 MBP. From Intel, absolutely. Hopefully it drives down the price of the M1 MBP (like the M2 air did for the M1 air) and more folks can upgrade from Intel. FWIW - I love my M1 MBP - best laptop I've ever owned.
The battery life of the 14 is the only thing that truly bothers me tbh
If I understand things correctly, the differences between the M1 and M1 Pro is that Apple made the M1 Pro bigger and added few bells and whistle. The differences between the M1 and M2 are seemingly slight. To that end, I'm not expecting major increases in performance. If the M2 is about 10% faster then the M1, I expect the M2 Pro to be about 10% faster then the M1 Pro.
This is all speculation of course and Apple could be making major changes, but all things being equal, the M1 product line is really Apple making the M1 bigger and bigger.

I gotta imagine there will be, simply based on the fact that everything we need or want is more expensive.
Guess you're right, iPhone 14 PM now costs 15% more than 13 PM, while USA price remained unchanged.
What I have seen in reviews is that the 14” which has the same power as the 16” being in a smaller case does not have as much battery life as the 16”. The Air being less power hungry also has a longer battery life. However if you were to compare the 14” to any of the Intel-based MBPs it puts them to shame. As @dizmonk mentioned, most people with the 14” report a very satisfactory batter life. As you mention, the battery life is not at all bad, just not the top.
What are you comparing it to? Is it really worse than what you have now or what you need?
If exchange rates continue to be so unfavorable, I would not be surprised if Apple has to raise prices in the EU and UK.
