im going to buy a m2 air this week. it has been used pretty lightly as the user is not familiar with mac they want to sell.

what should i look for ? im thinking about looking at battery cycles and physical damage etc... is there anything else should i check before buying ?

for an m2 air what value battery cycle should be ?

i have never used macbook before so i dont know what to look for

The MBA M2 has only been available for about 13 months though, of course, it could have been purchased recently. Especially if it has light usage, I would expect 100 cycles or less on the battery.

Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles. The one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. Apple offers a battery replacement service for all MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro notebooks with built-in batteries.

As for other things:

• If it is still within the first year of purchase (i.e., has warranty), that adds value, of course. You can check coverage two ways:

• If/when you finally make the sale, ensure the seller disables Activation Lock:

Also recommend the seller follow these steps before finally handing the Mac over:

Reset/reinstall shouldn’t affect battery information — I also don’t know of any hacks to modify those values. So, you should be good.
