It depends what you do with your pictures, where they end up, and what your usual workflow is.
You can use a proper dslr camera and use the dongle to import the card, then use lightroom to organise the collection and do some basic raw photo editing.. And then get to your say iMac or PC and take over from there.. All the edits are in there too and if you make changes on the iMac in lightroom, they show up as changed on the iPad again.
You wanna use raw and go pro a little .. if you want to make posters, canvas stuff, serious work.
If you just take phone pics and go to instagram, then I just edit in the photos app, and load in instagram and finish editing there.
just giving 2 obvious examples, because it sorta depends on what you do with it.
