There are certain movies that, if available, I'd buy in an instant. It pains me that I've yet to be able to purchase them, however, and keep my fingers crossed for the future.

I tend to like imaginative, unique movies (and bonus if my baby daughters might like it), so my list is as follows:

Goonies
Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (Gene Wilder 1971 version)
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
The Great Muppet Caper
Pan's Labyrinth (For the wife and I, not the kids)
Star Wars: A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi (Don't care for the others)
India Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, Last Crusade
Edward Scissorhands
Back to the Future: I, II, & III
The Neverending Story
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
Scary Movie (Guilty pleasure of mine)
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Willow

On a side note, these are the movies I discovered on iTunes that I'm most impressed they have (in other words, movies I like that aren't the most popular):

The Orphanage
Mary Poppins
The Princess Bride
Office Space
A Christmas Story
Little Shop of Horrors
Romeo + Juliet
Kung Fu Hustle
The Green Mile
Labyrinth

What's on your list?

star wars all of them. the lord of the rings. Ferris Bueller's Day Off would be if it werent on starz every day. there are others i just can remember them right now:p

Every movie that is currently in theaters too dirty or crowded to go to. :D

As was just previously said, HD purchases...I would be all over that....but if that is not going to happen, I would love Star Wars to be available to rent in HD, but I don't actually think its available anywhere in high-def, though I could certainly be wrong...

Ok I am going to sound like a MAJOR dork but....

The Mighty Ducks-all three versions.

As a young hockey fan, these movies really turned me on to the sport.

But for real films

All my friends in high school were hockey players. I told them to try the "flying V" during one of their games. They got wasted.. really bad. Just to show you how bad that tactic is.

I'd say the Bond series in addition to what has already been said.

I bumped a similar thread accidentally, but this is the one I meant to bump! :D

Check "Top Movies". There are about a half dozen Bond movies, including my favorite, "Casino Royale".

A Christmas Story

I love that film! 'You'll Shoot Your Eye Out'.

I remember watching that when I was younger, I just wish it was available in the UK :(

I was gonna say twilight but i saw it on a torrent. I don't see what the big deal is about that movie. It's like dawson's creek meets vampires... lol.

Race With The Devil

I think they will eventually get this and every movie that we all would like to see.

I've been checking back several times a week and searching for movies I constantly think of and I am ofetn surprised to see they've been added. Some examples:

The Warriors
Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
Empire Of The Ants
Frogs
Easy Rider
Things Are Tough All Over
The Brother From Another Planet
Jesus Christ Superstar

They are adding some of those crazy movies from the 70s and 80s that I remember seeing as a kid and teen and it's great!

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Willow

Woo hoo! Scratch "The Great Muppet Caper" off the list! It's available!

I also picked up Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and noticed Ferris Bueller's Day Off was available.

I take it you are referring to the US store here as quite a few of those are available in the UK store.

Im not sure if this is coincidence or that Apple are checking our search habits but I found on 3 occasions I have run a full search for a film on my AppleTV returning no results but then tried again a few days later and the film was available. By a full search I mean type out the full name of the film even if the dynamic search shows no results before you finish typing.

I searched for 'Crazy People' with no results 2 days later it was available. I searched Housesitter and 2 days later it was available and I also searched for Bird on a Wire and a few days later it was available.

Give it a try and see what happens. Maybe its coincidence but maybe Apple are monitoring our search queries. :)

I just wish more studios would sign on for HD sales... they have a pretty good (and growing) HD rental catalog, but they are severely lacking when you want to purchase one.
