I have an Imac G5 17" (3.0) with 160HD and 1gb ram

what updates are possible? to make it faster and perhapes graphics card improvement?
 
You can't do much graphics wise, however you can install more RAM.

What is the (3.0)?
 
Is your hd a 7200 rpm drive? You could always change your boot drive to an ext. fw drive that's a 7200 rpm drive.
