Maybe you guys can help me out. How much did it cost Steve to start Apple?

I've been searching on Google and can't find anything.

If I remember, the Steves had enough money to build about 100 Apple I boards and sell them to a store in the Bay area that I think was called the Byte store for $500 per.
When they got paid for those they were able to buy more parts and turn out more products. In actuality Woz was the manufacturer for the most part.

Mike Markkula, who was one of the Fairchild millionaires chipped in about a quarter mil to really get things rolling.

edit: They bought the parts on credit, having a firm order for the complete boards at $666 retail, $500 cost to the dealer.

Hi
I heard about the apple start up cost on online information. Instead carriers will pay Apple a subsidy for each phone sold, in order to bring the price from $399 down to $199 for the 8 Gigabyte model. The company did not specify the amount of the subsidy.

Urm, what? The OP wasn't asking anything about the iPhone...

If you want to go further back, didn't Woz sell his Texas Instruments scientific calculator and Jobs his Kombi van to cover the costs of making the original Apple I circuit boards?
