I couldn’t help but to notice what was missing from today’s presentation. They focused on games and the camera. However the following wasn’t even mentioned.

1. Numbers, Pages, Keynote
2. Maps
3. Reminders
4. Notes
5. Stocks
6. Books
7. Safari
8. Mail
9. Even the Phone!!!

With the exception of the camera they did not mention a single thing I use the phone for.

All of those things are iOS. Today was mostly about hardware, not iOS. WWDC was in June. We'll be getting iOS 12 soon enough and that will address most of what's on your list.

They did mention Dual SIM card support, which is actually pretty big for an iPhone. This will allow many such as myself to consolidate a business and a personal phone into one device.

However in past years when they introduced hardware they showed what it could do for you. In otherwords here is the great hardware we have and here’s what you can do with it today to improve your life.

Hardware improvements just for hardware sake is not good enough. You must show me what it can do in the real world.

They did that today, but limited to what helps sell the new hardware. Gaming, bokeh, camera, AR, etc.
Apple's iPhone events make international headlines and even TV news. If the world is watching, they leverage the opportunity to make a sales pitch. I missed the first 45 minutes but this just how I view Apple maximizing (no pun intended) the event for profit.
