For a friend recently diagnosed with cancer, I want to give him a picture of us enjoying a recent vacation.

So I've started to look through gifts containing digital photos...

Have you come across any gifts containing digital photos
- that you thought were cleverly designed,
- or turned out to be better than you expected?

Even recommendations for good frames would be appreciated. Nothing huge - maybe 5x7 or 4x6

I was trying to find something that he could add to in Lego fashion when he looks through his photo albums with other people in them. He takes a lot of photos but doesn't have many printed out in high quality photos. I think it might cheer him up.

Sorry to hear of your friend's diagnosis. I hope he has fight left in him to beat it.

I am not really sure this helps but I got a relatively cheap one from Amazon for my mum when she went into care with Alzheimers - same idea, pictures of her granddaughters to cheer her up. The problem was that as I got a cheap one, then I had to load a memory stick and swap it out each time new images were to be added. So I recommend one that can connect to say Flickr or some other remote service that can be updated and refreshed easily without needing physical access to it.

I know you dont want anything big but I have to mention how impressed I am with our TV. It has one of those art features where when you turn it off, it displays images as if it is a painting. Maybe a sledgehammer to crack a nut option. I mention it only so your attention is drawn to it but it maybe worth considering.

Thank you! Actually I was thinking of something more physical than digital...

Sorry mis-read the brief. In the UK here I use a company called Loxley colour. They do a product which is a fold out picture frame/book. They are nice and compact and can hold a relatively small number of images but I like the way they fold out.

I like their simple tri-color fold-out too. Thanks for the tip!
