I had a post the other day that asks about the specifics of the photo widget. To my surprise, no one actually uses it.

So my question to you, what widgets do you use? I would think Photo would be the most commonly used widget. For your kids/family/loved ones etc.

Is that not true? Just curious.

Just weather and calendar. Why? I need the weather forecast every day for my daily sport and to know if I'll get to work by motor bike or car. Photos - I'll take a look at them when there's time and I'm in the mood fore this

The iOS 14 widgets? None of them. They're pretty useless. For Today widgets I use Pedometer++ and Transit.app. Transit.app is making it hard, though, they replace the Nearby Today widget with their useless iOS 14 widget every time they update their app.

I don't know what you're basing "no one actually uses it" on other than responses to your other post perhaps (but I didn't see it). I use it, but it's pretty casual.

Weather on my main home page. Battery, Activity, VPN on the widget page.

Calendar on Home Page. Weather and Rainviewer on my widget page. Partly real estate considerations on home screens and widgets that don't have a form that work for me. Photos widget never a consideration for both those reasons, plus I dislike any 'curation' done by apps.

This is my home screen, I do not use any other widgets, might give photos a try seeing the warm review it gets on this thread.

I use only weather and calendar widget on the home screen and a WaterMinder widget hidden on the widget page. I don't see a reason to use more widgets.

I occasionally glance at the Stocks and Weather widgets. The Calendar widget is useless, it's too small and doesn't give me ANY information other than what day it is. And I can already see the Date and Time on the Menu Bar / Control Center.

The only reason I updated to iOS 14 was for the battery widget. I like seeing a giant battery charge indicator on the home screen. That's the only widget I use. (It sure could be improved though).

I have used it since the start. Along with Notes, Verizon, Weather etc.

Calendar on my iPhone and Calendar & Battery on my iPad so I can see then pencil's charge level.
