IIRC it's coming early next year and I know no one fully knows the answers so was just wondering what you folks think. Do you think it will open up the availability to install iOS IPAs and give rise to IPA download websites like what Android has with APKmirror etc? Or perhaps something more restricted?

Those websites already exist, a ton of them on the internet. Sideloading is technically possible even right now, but it’s a more complicated process and the files have to get signed by Apple through your Apple ID. I think in order to comply they’ll have to open it up without any of those or any new restrictions.

Yes completely forgot to mention that too. I know about the Altstore and other such stores, but without paying Apple for a developer account you have to "refresh" the apps every 7 days. And you need a computer too. I hope the EU mandated changes will allow for unrestricted IPA installs like Android. I'd jump ship to iPhone immediately if that was the case.
