Hey guys just brought my first iMac and made the switch to Apple! (Specs in signature).

I Would like to install a Windows OS for gaming etc....? What version do you guys recommend?
in particular would like to install Flight Sim X with Add-ons, and other various ongoing enhancements.

I am curious about downloading Windows 7 RC 64 bit, what do you think? Otherwise will purchase Vista Home Prem 64 bit.

Does anyone have experience running Windows 7 and Flight Sim X etc?

Suggestions and Feedback welcome! Many Thanks!

I honestly can't begin to tell you how happy I am that you didn't suggest any of that XP or 32-bit crap. High five for you :D

Normally I'd recommend Vista Home Prem 64 but with Windows 7 so close (release in October), it'd be a waste of money at this point. Download the Windows 7 RC (64-bit of course) as it won't expire until summer of 2010. It works fantastically, is very stable and fast, and the final version is only going to get better. I've been using Win7 64 for gaming since the Beta was released and it's yet to fail me.

If you're really unsure about something in particular, check out the Seven Forums as they have a lot of answers.

I am running flight simulator X and Windows 7. I think it is the best setup for flight Simulator X. I tries XP & Vista64 they both had short comings.

I agree that Windows 7 RC is the way to go right now. I run all my games on it and they run great. Make sure you check the new fan control app too. :)
