My wife has a Note 4 and is happy with it but the the battery is weak and she was asking me what would be good upgrade(used phone) since she has had it awhile. I listed her phone on craigslist as a feeler to gauge interest at $200 and have a few people saying they will buy it at that price. I am thinking either Nexus 5x, Note 5 or a Moto X Pure. I might also consider the Moto G4. She doesnt care about a fingerprint scanner or build quality, a camera is her main concern and battery life. I prefer to stay at $300 or below, I saw a Note 5 on ebay yesterday for $270, I should have hopped on that

Buy a new battery for it

Yeah I love my N4, just buy a fresh battery, keep the other as a back up or get one of those cases with an extended battery.

The phone is so good I sold mine then regretted it and bought another...

Yep, keep that Note 4 and get it a new battery and maybe even a 200GB MicroSD card :D this phone still has plenty life left in it.

Even vs. much newer phones, it brings more.

Agee with the consensus to buy a new battery. It is the cheapest option. Then if she still wants a new phone take a look at the OPO3 or Note 5.

Her Note is stuck on 5.0.X, can it be manually upgraded or rooted/rom? I havent tried rooting a Samsung phone in a few years due to hearing about Knox

There's plenty of 6.0.1 stock ROMS available on SammMobile. It all depends what country you're in. In the UK, I found I could use virtually any other country's stock ROM without issue on my N3 but if you're in the States I believe things are different due to the carriers
