what would explain delivery delay on HD4850 ?

My theory is simply that its not the mobility version of the card, and Apple is the only customer in the world of the mutant shaped version they are using, and thus stock is low due to the sudden demand of an essentially custom part from ATI (or whoever makes the physical PCB card) who just didn't get ramping fast enough.

See, that's just not even close.... it's going to be the "yet to be announced 5870 mobile!"
And by then we will see the 6870With an extended "estimated delivery" of March 2010
