I was wondering what would happen if Apple released, let's say iPhone OS 3.3 tomorrow and I am currently jailbroken and I upgraded? Would my phone work at all? Would it work like normal as if it isn't jailbroken?

Thanks!

99.99% of the time when a new firmware is out, all the jailbreak/software unlocks go down the drain and your phone will just be a normal.. iPhone.

Then the wait for the DevTeam to unlock the new firmware begins... :)

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS (JB3.1, unlocked): Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7C144 Safari/528.16)

Yes, it would be just fine. You would lose your jailbreak and unlock, of course, but the phone would function normally, just like everyone else's non-jailbroken phones.

The answer to this is simple.

If your phone is currently JB and 3.3 firmware was released tomorrow, you should go to the DevTeam Blog and get their recommend before touching it.

If you would do anything else, then you can't care very much about having your phone JB.

Just my opinion

Haha well I'd live with it not jailbroken, I just wanted to make sure my phone would still work normally in the end. But anyway…I had some questions, if you guys could help me out (I'm pretty new at this JB stuff)

I successfully jailbroke my phone but I am confused on how to use everything. How do I look/get different themes?

Can I get the 5 row QWERTY keyboard? (I searched and it might not be ready yet?

How do I get BossPrefs?
How do I get MIM? (Make it Mine)

I tried searching but couldnt find anything I understood

Use Goggle to get the info you are asking about, that is where you need to start. As far as not understanding, start with reading about Cydia as that is where all JB modifications start from.

I will tell you one thing to help you out as this one is confusing. Keyboard mods or themes have not worked since Apple updated the firmware to 3.0. So, any keyboard theme is not going to work until winterboard is updated to handle landscape keyboards.

good luck.

Well I searched using Icy and Cydia and couldn't find either of the things I'm looking for. Am I still going something wrong?

With all due respect, we were all nubies once. We all got our 1st lessons at doing this from the Internet.

I know there are hundreds of web sites which detail every kind of Cydia app, theme or modification you can imagine. And you know what, I still refer to them when I go for something new. So they are there, everywhere.

I will leave it to you to find the info you are interested in.

Oh okay. Well could you perhaps provide me with links to the website you use because I have been looking and have been having trouble…help would be appreciated. Thanks
