I already had a mini 6 iPad for 3 years and bought the mini 7 on launch day. This morning I woke up to a loading sign and couldn’t restart my iPad. It would fluctuate between a hot pink color screen to a loading sign then back to Apple logo.

Took it to Best Buy geek squad bc there were no Apple genius appointments available. Geek squad was able to get it to restart to download my iCloud info. I then went to work then came back to see it stuck on the Apple logo.

I’d prefer to just exchange mini iPad 7 to a new one bc I never had this issue with my mini 6 in 3 years.

Would you nicely ask to exchange it at the Apple Store as well?

Update: I forgot apples return/exchange policy is only 14 days :(

Force restart iPad (models with Face ID or with Touch ID in the top button)
If your iPad doesn’t have the Home button, do the following:
  1. Press and quickly release the volume button nearest to the top button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume button farthest from the top button.
  3. Press and hold the top button.
  4. Slide to power off should show, now turn off the iPad. The afterwards press the Power button on the top that is also your Touch ID to get it to turn on again. Might need to press twice.

Does it boot normally after that? iF not then schedule an Apple Store appointment to see if they can get it working. It will be a lot easier if you have backup the iPad already to iCloud or using the finder window to backup up. When they will do normally to get this working is a wipe and factory reinstall of iPadOS/FW. Thats a DFU restore from a Mac connected via USB-C to the iPad USB-C.

Yes tried that using my MacBook. Still wouldn’t restart. The Apple logo still stayed on my screen. I think I have a saved iCloud back up from yesterday.

My iPad mini 7 got hosed trying to install 18.2 beta from 18.0.1 very early on. I took it in and they did a standard Mac using Apple Configurator for a restore and then its worked after that. I still had my mini 6 at the time to transfer settings/apps/data from when I got this working right. Then I determined the workaround is not install 18.2 again and installed 18.1 first, then 18.2 beta then it finally worked. So call this early kinks with initial releases of iPadOS for new hardware. No problems since.

Got a new iPad mini 7 today. Everything seems to be working fine except for the Facebook app! I can log in everywhere else with the same info and password except on my new mini iPad. Tried deleting the Facebook app and reinstalling as well as restarting the iPad. Nothing seems to work!!

Any other ideas??? Is there an iPad facebook app outage???

Open App Store app, search for Facebook, that is the current version you will have a choice of open or update. Not everything gets updates all the time. ;)

PS 18.2 beta 3 is very solid, if you need to try that route.
Ahhh hehe ok. Just opened the Facebook app and it says 490.1.0
