A friend and I have a few domains that are apple-ish in nature. I have the web design skills to do pretty much whatever we want with the domains but we are looking for the site to support itself. Hosting is $10/month about. Not too much. The question though is - what would people pay for? We have mac communities galore - we don't need another forum. Email addresses are a dime a dozen and people most likely won't pay for a custom email address. Webspace is also pretty darn cheap so they won't pay for that.

So my question that I ask is what would you pay for? What web service is needed that you cannot get for free? Is there such a thing? Or am I going to be limited in trying to make $10/month in advertising (god-forbid)? And even then - what unique service would you like to see that you can't get anywhere else at this moment? Rumor sites abound, don't need another one of those. etc. etc. etc.

The internet is crowded. What is the current need in the Apple world? Although - I imagine that if you could answer that question - you probably wouldn't share it with anyone.

I tend to buy domains based on ideas that I already have, as opposed to buying domains and then trying to get ideas for them.

And yes, many people can answer the question and they will be very reluctant to just give out their idea to anyone.
