I have no idea if this has been done, but I always see threads about what you got for Christmas. So I wanted to see if this would work. Post pictures of what you got someone else for Christmas.
This is what I got my girlfriend.
A diamond ring from Macy's. It was Originally $250 but it was on crazy sale I couldn't pass it up.(The newports are mine lol).

And a discontinued perfume she really likes took forever to find a store that had it. I took the picture in the store to make sure that is the scent that she really liked.

I don't think this is to bad for a 20 year old broke college kid.

I was very lucky this past semester to have gotten a couple great freelance design jobs, so I decided to go wild for Christmas. Money doesn't mean much to me, so I like sharing it with other people :)

For my sister:

For my brother: ($500 in $1 bills. Helping him pay for a trip to Germany.)

I have been having problems attaching files to Macrumors so here are so flickr links:

For my oldest brother: A tim hortons card (Honestly someone gave me this and I am re-gifting it with a little more money on it:
Here we go

My older brother: Great deal on these: I am somehow a VIP sony member and got a 20$ gift card if I went to the store on some random date or something. They cost me nothing and he really enjoyed them. (Gave them to him early because his conked out)

Here

My parents+ grandparents: iPhoto photo books (these are only some of them)
Next

parents Close friends (Have to get them a gift, they were going to be at our house the day of the party): I got another terrific deal, $5 for all three things things of Lindt chocolate ftw!

yummy in my tummy

Other friends: a donation to humane society/child save in there names.

Also they are Hannukah not Christmas gifts. Unfortunatley money has been a little tight but I have tried my best and tried to get more meaningful gifts that the people need more then want (IE; saved a brother from getting his own headphones, paid for a brothers lunch, etc) I wish I could spend more as I feel cheep. I know everyone else will spend more then me but I just cant afford it really. I am hoping I will be able to repay them sometime this year..

No need to repay them unless you really want to. As cliché as it is, it really is the thought that counts. Those picture books, for example, are very personal and thoughtful gifts. I would love to receive one.

Happy Hannukah to you then man, I should have thought more before I said xmas. But none the less it is the thought that counts man look at what I did it wasn't much hell the only reason i got that ring was because it was so cheap on sale. Not everyone can drop tons of money all the time.

As with most years it is mostly books, DVDs, soft toys and CDs.

I am still in university and as I have to buy around 21 presents for various family members (lots of brothers & sisters, with kids), it costs me the harsh end of £150 every year, which isn't great when you are hand to mouth by the end of term. Thankfully I learnt my lesson after first year and do all of my Christmas shopping as soon as my loan comes in so that I don't have to budget for it or worry about what to buy people during exam times.

My favourite part of Christmas is wrapping peoples presents nicely and giving them, it makes me sad that some people do not put effort into having nice looking presents and the like and I can't wait until I can give people big presents from under a Christmas tree that I have decorated; it makes me want someone special in my life to spoil.

Thanks a lot. I decided that the first time I get the money next year I am getting more gifts for the people!

Ha thanks. Ya most people at the stores say Merry Christmas and I am like thanks.... But thanks for the two of you for assuring me what I am doing is still nice.

Yep I agree! I will probably spend a long time rapping the stuff to make it look extra nice. I love the feeling of ripping the rapping paper- opening bags, not so much.

Ha nice. I guess it is better to give then receive... The gift that just keeps on giving.

I always start shopping WAY early in like September. That way I can spread out buying a bunch of expensive gifts. The worst part is having to wait for several months before you can give it to the person

I bought these for my boyfriend:

sriracha_hug_model_large.jpg

He loves sriracha. :D

He's also addicted to pepper and he loved this when we saw it at Williams-Sonoma. Also he's just getting into cooking so he's really excited about new kitchen stuff.

I also got him some shortbread cookies and some English tea in these cute boxes. I just moved to the UK so I wanted to get him something local.

I still want to get him a warm sweater.

Got my dad a 10 Gallon air compressor and accessories.

image_11486.jpg

Bought my mom a heavier duty used stereo system. Yamaha MX-830 AMP, Yamaha C-80 Pre-AMP, and Yamah TX-930 Tuner. Bought used because the stuff they make now is absoute garbage with high THD. The AMP is so heavy duty as they will be pushing two giant Boston Acoustic speakers with 15" subs that are rated 250Watt RMS, 750Watt Peak at 4Ohms. These are replacing a venerable Harmon Kardon HK3500 receiver.

These are not the actual photos. Otherwise you'd just be looking at pictures of wrapped boxes.

I got my sister an American Express gift card since she just wants clothes.
