I just updated to Monterey 12.2 and when I scroll using my mouse the website is very choppy. When I use the trackpad it is smooth. Does anyone know a good mouse for smooth scrolling?

Maybe it's because your mouse is a Bluetooth one. Seems like something interferes with connection or battery should be charged/replaced.

I tried with a mouse connection to usb and it a little better but still choppy. I guess I just stick with trackpad for now.

I was just using a regular Logitech bluetooth mouse. So there is an issue with Magic Mouse? I was planning to buy it to test to see if it scrolls smoother.

I think your issue is that MacOS doesn't enable smooth scrolling on third party mice by default. That means when you're using anything that isn't a magic mouse or trackpad, it can initially be a very 'choppy' scrolling experience.

Here's a couple of things:

  • You can try downloading MOS and see if you get smoother scrolling with your existing Logitech mouse: https://mos.caldis.me
  • Alternatively you could also try downloading Logitech Options and enable smooth scrolling here.
If you've already got this, and the issue only just started with 12.2, then it may be a bluetooth issue as other posters have mentioned.

Using Bluetooth there will be always lag. It’s obvious. There is a big difference.
Of course there will be lag, there is also a lag with wired mice.

But can you notice it? Maybe there are some high sensitive folks that can notice the input lag but for the normal eye the input lag is too minor to notice it.

I am with @adamlbiscuit for this one, Apple has not enabled smooth scrolling with third party mice.

Funny enough I was struggling with it myself as I am using a Logitech MX Master 3 through Bluetooth on my 14” MacBook Pro. I find the LogiOptions software (stable and beta) too buggy and the smooth scrolling option isn’t that smooth as with the trackpad.
But after trying a lot of different apps like USB Overdrive and MOS I just stick with Logitech Options as this gives the best experience for myself.

As for MOS: I like its smooth scrolling option but there is a big lag between the physical scroll of the mousewheel and the scroll onscreen. With Logitech own software this is realtime but a bit choppier.

I do notice it on Bluetooth. But with the dongle from Razer there no difference with wired. It’s super smooth the same on my 144hz monitor.
The wheel is not smooth on the Orichi v2. There is just one mode. So I guess it’s not for you. :/
