I'm not trying to offend anyone, but where did the name 'memron' come from? Is this just a mistake made by a few, or was this ever an 'insider' name for one of Intel's upcoming CPUs/platforms?

It's just a misspelling of Merom.

It's also a mockumentary improv film inspired by the Enron scandal...

It never came from anywhere, because the real name is Merom.

Merom is a lake in the Hulah Valley of Israel. The Core architecture was developed in Israel, hence the names Yonah and Merom.

"Memron" is the prodigal son of Yonah, who begot Merom, who begot Santa Rosa, ....

Not only are Apple products amazing, now they're Kosher too! :D
With all this violence of the Israeli's towards the Palestinians, anything-Israel is most definitely not kosher anymore. They're the real axes of evil of the Middle East. Well, together with Iran, maybe, but Israel is not kosher. Not by a long shot.

But, sorry, that was probably a little bit too off-topic...

It's one of these:

Memron is a 2004 "mockumentary" film inspired by the Enron scandal. This improv film stars Michael McShane as the corrupt Memron executive. Also starring are John Lehr, Evie Peck, and Claire Forlani. The film was written, directed and produced by Nancy Hower, and won several awards at various film festivals.

Oh riiight, because the current Israeli government represents all Jews, throughout history. Of course. You're correct in implying that to critique Israel's recent military action is necessarily to criticize all Jews and all of Judaism. It's that same impeccable logic which holds that anyone criticizing the Bush administration's policies hates America and wants the terrorists to win. Bravo.

Doh. Clearly you're not one for facetiousness -- reading into a simple post with the deft, leftist intellectualism that you do (and I'm not even a "rightist"). Maybe you can shift the conversation back to exploding batteries on the Powerbook and steer clear of exploding ... other stuff. You might amp up air america, too, before you go to bed ... those soundwaves might give the effect of a soothing braziliian rain forest (which overly patriotic idealogues raped years ago, did they not?) on your ears ...

Tranquilo. And Bravo -- Back! :)
