Hey thinkstandard, this really depends on what you're using it for. Are you using it for recording/editing music?

Try Apple's new GarageBand packaged with iLife '04 (if it didn't already ship with your computer) if you're into recording/mixing your own music. It's only $50 (or $30 if your a student) for all 5 apps. There is also an expansion pack you can get with more loops and effects.

If you're looking for more advanced features than GarageBand can offer, check out the following products and see what suites you...

check out PEAK (mastering) and DECK (recording/mixing) at
www.bias-inc.com.

Apple's Soundtrack

PROTOOLS, the facto-default for the audio-recording industry (a bit pricy)
www.protools.com

LOGIC PRO
http://www.apple.com/software/pro/logic/

Hope this helps!

whoops, didn't realize you already stated you're using pro-tools. Check out the other apps at any rate.

I'm not sure if you're looking for comparable interface, usability, or features.

thanks stowaway... i'll check those out right now. primarily, i use soundforge for my own music's audio effects. ie- flange, amplitude modulation, phasers, normalization and all that jazz.
thanks again.
