I have a question regarding the app store. I have itunes credit on my acc and i was wondering if i buy apps off my ipod in the app store, will the credits on itunes be charged or will the credit card on my acc be charged.

I saw a post talking about itunes cards and buying apps in the app store but it wasnt specific enough on wether it was the store on itunes or the app store on the iphone/touch

Hang on...if you buy ANYTHING from the iTunes store (that includes Apps, movies, songs of course, etc) your credit will be used first. How will your credit be used up otherwise?

Why would Apple make it so that the charging system be different on the iPhone/Touch as on the desktop?

I've always had my credit via iTunes cards used first.... the only time i've had it not go that way was when i had song credits that they have issued me, and they obviously can only be used for, duh, songs! LOL!!

Any iTunes gift card balance will be used first before any other payment type. I always keep a balance available on my iTunes from gift cards and have never had my other account charged.

So are you saying you bought items from itunes or app store off the ipod?

Only apps, no songs from the Touch.

I can't verify my receipts from my purchases because i took my compute to apple yesterday... and i hate using me.com to search for mail. But i'm 99.9% sure i was buying apps from a GC when my debit card was void of funds.

Which it might be again - i'm afraid to check! LOL!!

100% certain - buying from the iTunes App on the iPhone and/or iTunes on your Mac/PC - your iTunes account is charged - if you have a balance on your account it is used rather than any credit/debit card you may have attached to your account.

I have a balance on my account from iTunes gift cards and that reduces correctly whenever i make a purchase, regardless of whether that purchase is made via the iPhone app or via the full program on the Mac/Pc. This applies to Apps, songs, videos etc.
