What's better, an Otterbox Defender case or an Otterbox Commuter case with a glass screen protector for an iPhone, because I feel that the Defender is too much?

It depends if you are very protective with your phone. If you are really intimidated of dropping it then the defender works best. If you handle your phone without worry but still want protection then the commuter is better. I usually go with commuter with a tempered glass on front.

The Defender series is complete bulky protection. If you don't need complete protection all the time, get a different and less bulky case.

My wife is very happy with her Commuter on her 12. The Defender was far to bulky for her pocket when her purse was not available.

She actually tried the Symmetry first, but it was too thin and she felt uncomfortable with the grip.

Commuter was a perfect compromise (For Her.)
