I was very optimistic back in September of 2024 when I read about Apple's hearing assistance app. I bought the air pods and turned in my iPhone 13 for a 16 Pro. I took the hearing test and adjusted the few controls there were to be able to hear someone talking directly to me. My hearing test said I had moderate loss in both ears with one ear being slightly better than the other. I called Applecare and over the next four months I was basically told they same thing, "The engineers and audio specialists are working on the issue". There has been no information from Apple. They even had me take a test where I talked to my wife for ten minutes while recording so they could analyze things. Last week I called Applecare and after hearing the same thing I asked them if Apple was still in the hearing assistance business? They assured me they were but there have been no press reports, no updates in IOS. I have spent thousands on hearing aids and have no plans on spending anymore. I was hoping Apple's entry into this app would take a larger priority than it has. Does anyone here know anything about Apple's progress on this app?

If you've spent thousands on hearing aids, then you must have audiogram data from a specialist - why not use that? I used an audiogram from my audiologist, ignoring the Apple testing.
