All iPads What’s happened to my Pages file?

Hi

I started using my new iPad Pro on Friday to work on a Pages document that was saved in iCloud. I‘ve spent 2 days writing and editing it and now I can’t find it anywhere. When I open up the document it’s the version I saved before starting to work on the iPad. I’ve checked all over iCloud Drive and the Files app and can’t find it anywhere.

Does anyone know what’s happened? Or how to retrieve it?

Maybe you werent on a network connection (or a poor one) and it didnt save properly?

I managed to find it via a Spotlight search and immediately converted it to PDF. But it’s still not showing anywhere in Files or in iCloud Drive. It’s really worrying me, and making me nervous to manage documents on the device again.

It was a Pages document that I’d started on the Mac and then spent two days finishing up on the iPP. But all that is in Files and iCloud Drive is the last version I saved on the Mac...

This is so weird. Where did you find it? Is it possible that the file was saved locally on your iPad and not in your iCloud?

I checked the on-device storage but it wasn’t there. Only place it appeared was in Spotlight.

It’s very possible that I’ve made a basic mistake as it’s my first time using my new iPP. But I’m obviously keen to understand what happened to avoid it happening again. I thought I’d lost two days of work
