With Sonoma out the door what do you want in the next version of macOS? What does it need? What would you like to see revamped, changed or improved in the next major release?

-Restore the normal, human-oriented appearance of alert dialogs. They were redesigned in the most horrible way possible on macOS Big Sur - something that not a single user ever asked for. Now we have the ugliest alerts in the entire computer world.

-Let us finally disable the expand/collapse animation of outline views (introduced on Lion). Such as when you expand/collapse a folder in the list view in the Finder.

-Let us disable the scrollbar rollover effect (introduced on 10.7.3). The scrollbars get highlighted countless times during the day when you happen to move the mouse over them - bringing user's attention to the scrollbars for no reason whatsoever. Enormous, never-ending distraction. Apple's disdain toward accessibility is abhorrent.

-Restore the normal, actual icons in the sidebar of the Open/Save dialogs (at least as an option). Fortunately, there are utilities that let us restore them in the Finder.

These are my main complaints and wishes.

To this day, there are still numerous options that don't have a GUI. You either need to use Terminal commands, or something like TinkerTool to get at them. Things like a third minimization animation (suck-in), having transparent Dock icons when you hide the app, and so on. These should be exposed to the user, all of them are supported by the OS and there's no real reason they should remain hidden.

Beyond that, I would expect less new features and more iteration. I feel things like Stage Manager could be improved a bit. There are other apps and things here and there that don't allow the user to customize them.
