What's possible with a software update?

I was just wondering what are some possbilities that could come out ofa software update for the iPhone?

Im not really a very technological person so I dont know whats possible.

For example:
Is it possible to upgrade to a video camera without buying any hardware?
Please post all the possibilities.

the possibilities are only to update the software on your iphone nothing more nothing less. for example you can only update the software that you can buy from that actually develops like itunes. You can't upgrade your camera from taking photos to taking videos, thats called hardware. you can only update software.

The physical hardware of the camera would not be effected, but let's look at the possibilities of what a software update might do for the iPhone's camera.

1. Video support
2. Photobooth effects
3. Video chat
4. Video conferencing
5. Face recognition
6. Basic scanner?
7. Time lapse photography
8. Software zoom
9. ETC.

Basically the list could go on and on.

Apple almost certainly can add video recording support through a software update as this is within the capabilities of the hardware already.
