What's the best car stereo for ipod AND iphone+bluetooth?

Hi

I've searched and searched, here and all over, and can't find any good recommendations....

I need a car head-unit with 2 requisite:
1) works great with an attached ipod: controls it, shows the song name/artist, etc

2) works great with an iphone via bluetooth: pairs automatically, pauses the ipod when I make or receive a call, doesnt make me fiddle with the iphone at all for answering an incoming call and then hanging up. And that resumes the ipod music when I hang up.

I have a Pioneer DEH 9800bt.
The ipod controls are very sluggish, but since I mostly stick to a few playlists, it is decent enough.
The bluetooth used to work great with my previous phones, but it won't pair automatically with the iphone. That is a major sticking point, cause it's a hassle having to pair it every time I get in the car. I end up not doing it.

Can anyone recommend a head unit? I just don't want those DVD playing $1000 jobs.
Can be 1 or 2 din, tho

There is the Parrot RK8200..easy to fit, cheap, seems to do everything and works with the iPhone.
Otherwise big choice from Alpine, probably better quality but much more expensive and needs add on modules for bluetooth and iPhone.

I have a Pioneer FH-P8000BT. It's Pioneer's newest double-din stereo, and I have had no trouble using it with my iPhone.

My original setup was an iPod plugged in to the head unit with a cable, iPhone paired via Bluetooth. The unit successfully reconnected to the iPhone every time I turned the car on (there's a little light on the HU to show it's connected) and properly paused music for calls, then played the music again when the call was done.

I've since unpaired my iPhone until I have a chance move the mic, which requires some fairly major cable re-routing, but if you have any questions I can pair it back up and test it.

There's a fairly recent thread here about this unit, something about "you know you need it" in the title.

Found it: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/491214/ The author lists the model number as an 800, but mine is an 8000. I think the only difference between the two is who Pioneer sold them to.

I'm gonna wait for the 2.0 firmware, who knows there's an outside chance that it'll "fix" the bluetooth...

If not, I'll look at the parrot (kinda ugly) and the FH-P800/0 (3 text lines? where's the nice color display I have on the 9800?)
