Universal What's the best video player app?

I'm looking for an app that can play mp4 and mkv file formats. Paid apps are fine.

I like VLC the regular version not the streaming version. It plays many formats others wont.

It plays the formats you want to play. I originally got if for playing films from a NAS, but now I use it for so much more (work stuff). Fantastic customer support and the product is well maintained and often improved.
