The iPad could offer many app possibilities for app development. Maybe.

^^ I've seen that around the forums. I'll say that they are pretty decent mockups, except you should at least pull up the dictionary ("sturdy").

I want a tabletop wargaming app on the iPad! Games Workshop NEEDS to build a tabletop miniature wargaming engine and then start offering all their games that way. They could make a fortune on in app purchases of virtual figures/army sets, terrain kits, pre-made maps and scenarios...

Local multiplayer online multiplayer, single player campaigns vs AI, online leagues... gah. I would seriously drop so much cash on this.

Also, tabletop RPG gaming system could be cool. iPad for a shared screen of maps, dice, general info, etc, and then tethered iPod/iPhones for each player to have character info, private messaging, etc. and a DM mode for a tethered iPod or iPad as well. Would be a pricey setup ($200 per player, plus a $500 iPad or two) but I could see D&D nerds (said with love!) coughing up the money - it's not like they are single purpose devices or anything.

I want a .wav Editor like Recycle with a few effects and filters.
I want a usb CF card reader and or usb connectivity to other peripherals to transfer audio/midi files.

i feel like a broken record, but this is what I want.

Ad hoc WiFi

This screams for ad hoc WiFi. I wonder if it will be possible or allowed by Apple.

Remote Desktop

As someone who works with Live audio and video, it will be nice to rdp to our system that controls the Digital mixer and use the existing app to remote control our media system from anywhere in the room. I can tweak levels where I hear issues and not have to go back and forth.

Good point, but it's already there, well almost, between your iphone and your mac, make an ad hoc network, then have some app like air sharing connect to it and share files. :). I know you might be looking for something simpler and I think it will be there.

My take:

Be able to stream any itunes library from a mac or your local nas to the ipad and then wirelessly to speakers, with a decent interface. That would be sooo great.

I know I'm surely in the minority here, but I'm a big chat room junkie, and I would like to see either AOL or one of the other sites that have chat rooms release a version of their IM messenger with support for chat rooms.

I've tried to access them using mobile safari, and it just doesn't work.
