I am an owner of the late-2011 MBA. As far as i can tell, my MBA meets all the hardware requirements for continuity and handoff, but apparently, not everything is working. Do both need manual tweaks in order to work? I was tempting to buy an iphone 6, thinking continuity and handoff would be working nicely with my MBA. I guess not then. How about airdrop? that works right?

I understand there are threads about it, but not one specific to 2011 MBA. What grants it a seperate thread is that it's got all the hardware requirements by Apple, yet not having handoff or continuity working by default. Other than greed I can't think of other reason.
Btw, what's with the bluetooth LE requirement anyway? This requirement just looks arbitrary to me. Other bluetooth technology can do what LE does except they are not as energy efficient. Consumer should have been given the option of enabling it based on their own preference.

Perhaps it might be better to tell us what iDevice you are trying to get working and which functions are not working.
"Not everything is working" is a bit vague to get any real advice, even if your device should support all features (assuming you have another supported iDevice), then from your post clearly some things aren't, hence a bit more detail might help us to help you.

No, the question is really about the rumors on late-2011 MBA not working with handoff (possibly continuity as well) by default. These features are only supposed to work with the latest iDevices, in my case, an iPhone 6+. I haven't tried to pair them...but from my research, I will need to change a few things around apple's restriction. That's not cool.
