iPod What's the deal with Music Video quality from the store?

Bah, just downloaded a new video, and the quality is poor, only really made for the iPod's I would say...

Is it the music companies not giving Apple high enough files to work with, or Apple not bothering to give us HD content?

I know this thread is pointless, as nothing really will come of it, but there is no harm venting right? That's why online forums exist!

I agree with you. I would purchase a lot more music videos from the iTunes Store if the quality was higher, especially if it was HD.

Music Videos are where HD matters most. Cause you tend to watch them so many times unlike a TV show or something.

The people (person?) responsible for quality control of the music videos should be horsewhipped through the streets of Cupertino.

Aside from the issue of HD vs. SD, I've downloaded more than a few bad videos. Pixelation, macroblocking, and audio problems are not infrequent. It's important before buying music videos to read the feedback for indications of these.

Glad to know its not just me! I've left feedback on the Apple website about this.. who knows, maybe one day our children will be experiencing glorious HD music videos from iTunes 15!

I haven't really noticed it that much, but I do think they need "better" music videos. I don't know if most or all are made in widescreen today, but all made in 16x9 need to be so in the iTunes Store. I could also go for HD videos, but I honestly never watch MTV or VH1 so I wouldn't know if they're actually in HD.

I'm sooooooo glad someone else mentioned this! I honestly google the words "itunes" and "HD music videos" about once every week to see if they've started to release them yet!

I would LOVE to be able to collect high definition music videos like I do music and be able to play them on my flat screen in my room (via appleTV), but right now the only way to get HD music videos is to download versions other people have somehow ripped off of TV stations like MHD or Rave by clicking on some random rapidshare link...

And then for OCD people like myself, you have the problem of logos down at the bottom and plus all the dimensions and ripping settings or whatever are different depending on who made the file!

Please please PLEASE iTunes, sell HD music videos!!

And will I seriously have to wait for the next iTunes update for it??? Didn't they JUST update to 8.0?

UGH, why do I feel like technology/apple is totally lagging here?? Isn't it supposed to feel like the opposite?
