I'm curious what the longest that Apple has accepted your return on your iPhone past the return period is/was. I know they've done it for a few days late but has anyone gone weeks?

For me it’s zero as if I need to make a return, I always return it within the return window, never go past it.

However, online orders you can push the return button on day 14 and then you have additional 14 days to return it and Apple has to receive within that aditional 14 window given.

It was 6 weeks for me. That was a few years ago, when the red iPhone 7 was released.

purchased an iPhone 8 Plus online. Marked it to be returned. A few months later when I got the iPhone X, I noticed the return was still pending. They told me to send the 8+ back and they’d accept it. They did.

Too big, wishing I’d gone smaller. Will probably just end up selling it instead of trying to return it.
When did you purchase the phone? If you paid in full price and purchased after 11/15/19, then you technically have till 1/8/2020 to return it as it would be under the holiday return period.

its happened a few times, the longest was just over 2 months, but there were extenuating circumstances.
i was on a combo work/vacation to a country with no Apple retail presence and i always reported my issues with explanation and pictures while I was in the return period.
everytime they've extended the return period till i got back.

however the last time was a few years back when IT contracts had "paycation" work rather than the remote service i now typically do, so who knows if Apple still does this.

Purchasing it from the online store is the best bet as a former Apple Online Store agent. If the representative you get isn't receptive, and they can be, request that the call be escalated to a manager and don't be a jerk about it.

lol.. same here... i'm a good boy :)

Apple may give extensions but i don't know how long it could be... I can't be more than a few days (TNT/Aus post issue)

As if the only excuse you have is "i posted it too late" i think you'd get a warning. I don't believe Apple would keep delaying, and not enforcing anything, as that would be against the reason why they even have the return period in the first place.

2 months. I bought an iPhone 7 and hated the smaller size as I was used to the plus phones. I was able to "swap" to a an iPhone 7 Plus in November after buying the iPhone 7 on release day. This was at an Apple Store.
