Hi.
I have 24 inch aluminum imac with 3.06ghz core 2 duo
It currently has 2gb 800mgz ddr sdram
I want to upgrade the ram up to 8gb but unsure if it it will be able to take that much.
I read some can only take 4 and some can take 6 unofficially and some can take up to 8. I am unsure which version imac I have as I don't remember exactly when I purchased the machine...

What is the maximum ram my machine can take?

Here are the specs...

Model Name: iMac
Model Identifier: iMac8,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 3.06 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 6 MB
Memory: 2 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz

Thanks in advance
