Hi guys,

I'd like to order a 27 iMac that produced after week 53, which seems has less screen issues.

I know the fourth and fifth digits of a serial number are the week number digits, e.g. W8953XXXXXX means it is a 53 week product. But what are the week number digits after week 53 of 2009? A new year week number starts from 01, 02, 03 or continues with 54, 55, 56?

Has anybody received a 27 imac produced in 2010?

I'm pretty sure the week will be 01. I don't know what the year will be, I guess a 0 too?

I just posted in the shipping thread that I got a 2010 machine on the way to me.

It's a Week 2. They are using 0 for the year, and then 02 for the week.

Me also. W8002-----, due to be delivered on Thursday. I'll write a post after I figure out if everything is peachy.

Yes, please post! The screen flickering and blackouts didn't start happening on my recently returned i5 until after the second day or so and from then on it started a couple of hours after waking from sleep.

Even with all the issues -- that iMac was really the best computer I've ever owned (first Mac.) I really miss it.

Apple received my RMA on Dec 31. I was told by Applecare that I would go to the head of the line for a replacement. Despite Apple's estimate of Jan 13, I'm hoping it will ship later this week. Maybe this one will come in tip top shape!

That's funny, as Applecare told me that my replacement 27" iMac is in the same queue as the retail orders. It is showing a two week wait, similar to yours it appears. I was also told it shouldn't take the full two weeks, now that the holiday shopping season is over. I certainly hope so!

Nevermind what I wrote earlier; my replacement iMac just went from "Ships Jan 21" to "prepared for shipment". :)

hmmm.... how can they ship you a wk2 machine when we are at wk1 of 2010? that is if apple uses ISO standard for week numbering.

last week was wk53 of 2009. :D

Hi purchased one last Wednesday (6th) and i have an order number with week 59 on it. W92(59)****

Order number not computer serial. You wont know the 'week number' for your machine until it is built, shipped and you get the invoice.

I know it seems odd, but that is really what they are shipping right now, week 2s. I don't understand it either. :)

Look Good, Works Great!

I ordered mine Dec 24th and it was shipped from Singapore on Jan 5th (EST). I paid the $33 for the 3-day shipping. It went to Anchorage, then Indianapolis, then Cleveland, then the FedEx terminal in Middleburg Heights (Ohio), and to my house on the afternoon of the 8th. That was <3-days. Nice. :D

I set it up last night and have been enjoying it since then. This is my first Mac, so it will take awhile to get up to speed. I got the 27" i7 w/ 4gb mem and a 1T HD. I also got the wired, full size keyboard (don't like to depend on batteries for a device I use alot); and the Magic Mouse (no problems with it).

No yellow problems, no noise HD, no screen flickering. :)

My biggest problem is getting used to the back arrow and Close Window icon being in line with each other. I keep clicking on the red circle rather than the back arrow when I want to move back.

I just loaded a Wallpapers folder with lots of kewl art and set the Desktop to change it every 5-minutes. Way kewl!

Another minor problem is figuring out how make the contents bigger and more readable when I resize a window to be bigger. There must be a way...

You're talking about Safari, right? If I understand your problem, then there is a an easy fix:
Right-click on the title bar and choose "Customize Toolbar..."
While that is open you can drag the back/forward buttons to a different location. Sorry to go off topic.:)

I returned my 21.5 due to the yellow problem on Jan 5 and asked them to upgrade mine to 27 i7 model (I paid another $500). The shipment date will be Jan 20. How come? It 's about 2 weeks. Do you think I can get it faster then that. or It will be exactly 2 Weeks?

I'm have no idea. I returned mine on Dec 29, RMA completed Dec 31, estimated ship date Jan 13 with Jan 18 estimated delivery. Order tracking still states, "Not Yet Shipped." On the one hand, I'm really impatient to get my replacement and on the other, I can't help feel a slight delay might increase my chances of getting a spot on machine. I'm certainly hoping for at least a post week 53 machine but would now prefer even later. Whatever, I just want a machine that works.

When it worked properly, that iMac i5 was the best computer I've ever owned and now I've decided I just won't be content with any other computer (i.e. notebook, windows, etc.) So, no matter what fate tosses my way, I will just be patient until I have a 27-inch iMac that works as it should.
