I remember playing this kind of text-adventure game on my dad's Mac SE when I was a kid. It seemed to be based on 2001: A Space Odyssey, and even referenced characters such as HAL and Dave, and the spaceship Discovery. You would type in commands like "Go west", "Open pod bay door", etc. It had a bitchin' opening tune, and I think the name had the word "Falcon" in it perhaps...?

If anyone can help me remember, I would greatly appreciate it!

i remember there was a hitchhikers guide to the galaxy text based game for the mac. but i dont remember anything else.

Ahah! Shufflepuck was just unplayable on a SE/30 the fpu made it run at a too much high fps and it was quiet a nightmare in the final stages :)
