I noticed farcebook had been making my MBP "warm" the last few weeks, hadn't noticed that before.
I had logged out 3 days ago due to their maddening interface, no battery issues, but its the only way I've been keeping up with school, career, and musician friends in six different areas of the country lately. Sigh.
 
Have you already disabled background app refresh for the FB app? I had this issue the first week where it was churning all night, making my phone hot. Once I disabled background app refresh, it stopped.

One thing to note, this is from at least iOS 15, if not even older but don't leave the FB app open all the time. Actually close it completely from the switcher. It seems to get around some privacy settings if the app is always running in the switcher. Of course, I am sure it is running something no matter what, once installed, but ...

I did have everything off with facebook , background refresh access to gallery , location , tracking and even notifications turned off , and it still did this lmao

Try reinstalling it then. Others have said it was fixed this way.

I know other apps were needed to be reinstalled after iOS 16 to at least get the lock screen widgets to work. Maybe this is another one of those things.
