I've been an android user for...well, forever. That being said I have no bias and don't have any brand loyalty, that being said everyone I know except one person has android. When I learned about RCS coming to Apple I was on board to giving it a shot, I DO very much like the ultra watches more than the galaxy watches for sure. When IOS 18 went into beta I downloaded it, RCS didn't work at all (yes my provider supports it), the next IOS 18 beta fixed the issue and RCS worked. RCS worked great!.....as long as I had a strong cell signal and didn't connect to Wifi, especially open wifi networks.

I basically work in a big faraday cage, cell signals don't work unless you literally hug the walls of the building. So work tossed up a open wifi network. Great!, but whenever I connect to it on my Iphone, it instantly changes back to SMS. Not only that but it wont send messages out (even as SMS) and anyone who messages me it tells them that I'm offline. My s24 ultra uses the same open wifi network without issue RCS stays on.

Even at home RCS is 80% stable but sure enough once or twice a week it will just shut off RCS and it wont come back, even if I restart the phone and everything. I'll wake up and RCS is back on. I had no choice but make my S24 ultra my main phone again, my 16 pro max is back in the box and I'm unsure if I should just sell it or wait and HOPE Apple fixes this issue. I know that the problem has been reported "10 or more times" on the feedback app, but as far as I know Apple hasn't even admitted they are having any RCS issues with IOS 18 so that makes me pretty worried.

I guess long story short, has anyone with RCS issues had ANY luck with talking to Apple about it , via email or chat that they are atleast aware of the issue?. I very much want to make my pro max my daily driver but right now I have no choice but to use my s24 ultra and it bugs the hell out of me as it's unknown if this will be fixed or not.

All I can say is that my RCS feedback bug report shows that “more than 10” similar reports were submitted. So I guess Apple knows about it. The good thing in this case is that if it’s affecting so many users, it’s certainly also affecting many of the employees at Apple (possibly even the execs) who will have enough leverage and frustration to get it fixed.

Someone on reddit mentioned that RCS requires port 5223 (?) to be open on networks, which is usually not open on most networks.
