What's up with the hole in these TPU cases?

I'm looking on eBay for an inexpensive TPU case -- I can't bear to pay $30-50 on a case that will may likely be useless & worthless when the next year's iPad arrives. The problem is they all have frickin' holes in the center as a "feature" to display the Apple logo. WTF? Do they really think that's a feature on a product that is used to protect the iPad's back case?

Rant aside -- can anyone recommend a thin silicone or TPU case not more than $20 shipped that has a solid back; i.e., no hole, and decent fit; i.e., fits snuggly around the top bezel?
 
There was some talk a while ago that the plastic logo is where the wifi signal is emitted from so maybe that is part of the reasoning behind.

True, but silicone, rubber and plastic are no barrier to a radio signal.
 
I totally agree. What kind of "feature" is leaving the apple logo vulnerable.

I was thinking the same thing, I bought one from MobileWorld8 on eBay. Excellent transaction, I would not hesitate to buy from him again. It was cheap and it doesn't have the hole in back.

I bought one on Amazon. It has the hole and it bugs me. Overalll the case itself feels nice and very grippy.

I have a switch easy nude on the way so this is just temporary.
 
There are some TPU cases on ebay without holes. You just have to wade through pages and pages of ones with holes to find them :(
