It seems like nothing new. The largest are still 256GB, nothing larger,
nothing really cheaper. When can I expect a reliable 512GB ssd drive?

I'm thinking maybe in the next year as its still kind of technology in development

I would love to see a SSD that size myself i would use one. 256 is just not enough

I would keep a look out over the next year, i think we could see one in summer 2010 or maybe earlier

And jesus i bet a 512 would be thousands haha

I thought I saw a sony vaio with a carbon-fiber case and 512GB SSD already in it, retailing for $4699 under the limited edition section of their webpage...

I think the flash industry has been saturated with everything flash-equiped doubling in capacity every now and then... Ipods, iphones, cell phones, camera cards. They concentrate more on producing enough cheap memory than evolving the current designs.

There's a 1TB SSD available but it's roughly 3000 USD.

More of a "hey we're the first to manafacture a 1TB SSD!" SSD rather than an actual retail SSD.
