What's using up all the space?

I have both ny iphone and ipad on my iCloud account. I noticed that I have not been being backed up for sometime so I purchased the 15GB plan. My ipad says Next Backup 5.4GB I have Camera roll off a handfull of apps none anywhere near a GB Mail is 2.8 Passbook is 117.4mb. Really puzzled at whats eating up the storage space.

The thing consuming your space is Messages. You could have saved some money by deleting unnecessary older messages and especially conversation with a lot of media.

That crossed my mind but I did not think it was part of iCloud iMessage says 6.5 GB on my iphone. I cant get it to show on my iPad.

I think I found it is Settings and saw something that said Usage.
